Ethnobotanical Garden

The Ethnobotany Workshops will be the responsibility of the ABC, helping to fulfil its role with regards to the knowledge sharing of the cultural value of plant resources

Andromeda Botanical Committee (ABC) Mission statement - To promote the biocultural and scientific value of Andromeda Botanic Gardens, with emphasis on the Ethnobotanical Garden, by providing a site for knowledge sharing, conservation, exploration, research and protection of the cultural and scientific value of the plant resources. 
Objectives
Launch and Inaugural Event. September 7th, 3-5.15pm
1. Participate in public education and sensitisation of the use of the historical and current plants

2. Promote the conservation of plant biodiversity

​3. Explore plants and their uses

4. Participate in the research and protection of cultural and scientific value of plants

Andromeda Botanic Gardens is owned by the Barbados National Trust and managed independently by the lease-owner Passiflora Ltd. Mission statement. Passiflora Ltd.’s aim is to provide quality education and training in garden design, horticulture and aspects of ethnobotany. As the company responsible for Andromeda Botanic Gardens, it aims to manage this historic site in accordance with the wishes of Iris Bannochie; its legal obligations to the Barbados National Trust; and to comply with the mandates of authentic botanical institutions. It also aims to ensure Andromeda Botanic Gardens is a fully inclusive community space and committed to protecting and enhancing its biodiversity - wildlife and plants.
